Food can be a little hit and miss in Montenegro, and Bar is no exception.

We've mostly had very good experiences eating out, but sometimes it can be a disaster, and what makes it tricky is that a place that is great most of the time, might not be great the time you are there. In fact, I was at one place for lunch and had a great lunch, then took friends there at night for dinner, and some of them are never going back!

With that in mind, here are our favourite places:

Le petite Macaron

Anne-Marie has brekafast here every week. it's reliable, very good food and a good price.

Hint: ask for 'Dolch' coffee if you want to get the closest thing to an Australian latte coffee.

A regular haunt of ours when we have the kids with us.  Get a few Pizzas to share, and it's a great affordable meal, sitting outside in a pleasant setting close to the waterfront.

Figaro

This place is amazing for cakes. You'll see them all over Bar in restaurants, but go here and buy a whole one at an incredible price.

Zizi's Sweets

Does amazing cakes and biscuits in winter, and ice cold drinks and deserts in summer.  The kids will love it here.
